Puppy Power

In the fall of 1998, my newly christened wife said she wanted to get a Saint Bernard. I, being of sound mind and body, was against it. She was unfazed. I said if she brought the pup home, I would divorce her. I guess she didn't believe me as she brought it home, anyway. Below is a bit that she taped of me that night.

The next day, she went to Petco to get supplies for the horse-to-be. The employee she spoke with said to think big, so my wife bought a huge water bowl as well as a gigantic crate. Check out 1:40 of this vid where a 5-pound Saint can be seen taking up about, oh, 5% of her crate.

Cute puppy, but I doubt it was too long before you were looking for a bigger crate.

The crate actually turned out to be big enough; you might not have noticed that we had more than half of it cordoned off so that she couldn't eliminate on one side and sleep on the other.

Dude, Did you say "... or I'll divorce you." in a serious manner? and she did it anyway?

I can't even imagine having a saint bernard, wow.

Very cute puppy though, I have to say!!

Yes, Rocket, I was serious when I told her this and she knew it, but proceeded, nonetheless. Perhaps she knew something I didn't, however, as I softened a bit over the next few days and wound up being very glad that she entered our lives all those years ago.

Thanks, Dave. Here's a short vid of her full-grown:
