You hear from polls that there are people out there like this, but to actually hear them dialoguing is something else.

I have watched that a few times now, I laugh harder every time I see it.

this isn't even funny. it's sick and it's sad.

Tim, I know I shouldn't have had this reaction based on what they were saying in the first 90 seconds, but I was actually stunned when one of them said the N-word.

You're right, Sarah. It is sad. This was posted more than 3 months ago, so one can only hope that those in the video have come to their senses in the interim.

it's sad that such ignorance exists, but it's also sad that it's allowed to exist, in this - the richest, greatest, choose-your-superlative country in the world.

Oh my.

Wow Tom, you really are the optimist!

Those people will die as dumb as the day they were born with as much hate in their hearts, if not more, then they have now.

Still, I find it funny. Its sad the world has people that think this way but what else can you do but laugh at them.

Wow! Seriously, that reminds me of the deep woods of southern WV. I'm originally from WV, but not that part. The further south you go, the scarier it gets. :)

I used to work with a guy who spoke in this manner. Nice guy but I could not understand a word that came out of his mouth! I likened his speech, as well as theirs, to a banjo playing.

Someone might want to let her know that Barack does not have a 'double r' in his name, therefore it would not be pronounced in that fashion! On second thought, there are a few things she should be told but I'm not going to go there. :)

I bet you did vote for Hillary sister, I bet you did.

P.S. Hey sexy driver from Spain...nice tooth! You got room on that bad boy for another chick!?! lol...sorry, I'm done.

Oh, Lord. There should be a basic test given to people before they're allowed to vote. What are the Bill of Rights for one? Hilarious though. Funny how I meet clean cut, educated people who still believe Barack is a Muslim. Then again, one survey administered a year or two ago said one in five Americans believe the sun revolves around the Earth.

PJ, this is why I am still wondering...

I meant to put a 'lol' at the end of that but whatevs! ;)

PJ and Stephanie, the first thing I thought upon viewing the video was, “These people are allowed to vote?!” I agree that a basic test should be given to those who vote, especially in West Virginia (shout out to Brian).

The Muslim thing is ridiculous. Even if Barack were a Muslim, who cares? There are millions of people in this country who are Muslim and making a positive contribution to society. My home state, Minnesota, voted a professed Muslim to serve in Congress in 2006. His name: Keith Ellison.

I saw a survey in the UK that over 50% of the population under 35 thinks Winston Churchill is a fictitious character.

So I guess America does not have the exclusive rights on dimwits. I suppose we lead the world though.

Thomas said...

Tim, that's incredible. The 50%probably also believe Sherlock Holmes actually existed.

"The 50% probably also believe Sherlock Holmes actually existed."

Wait, he doesn't? What are you going to tell me next, that Santa isn't real either!?! ;)

Funny you said that:

In my teens, I was more concerned with impressing people than I had interest in the world around me. I was my own world back then.

Self-admittedly, I still lack knowledge on the most basic of subjects. Watching 'Are You Smarter Than a Fifth-Grader' made me feel stupid enough to stop watching!

Thomas said...

I also stopped watching "5th Grader" some time ago, but for a different reason (it rhymes with Roxworthy).

Thomas,

You make a great point. Who cares about religion? It's funny how Thomas Jefferson's letter to Dr. Benjamin Rush was taken out of context and eventually inscribed on his monument. One of my favorites that Jefferson said was this: I don't care if my neighbor believes in one God or ten. It neither breaks my leg or my pocket book.
