Verdict on the New Bed

Slept on the new bed for the first time last night. It sets a few inches higher than the previous one, so I was concerned Zoe might not be able to jump up on it, but she was able to swing it. Shortly after it arrived, the cat went on it and did that thing that felines do where they move their paws back and forth several times (she does this even though she has no claws). Because of the increased height of the bed, instead of having my fan on top of one shoe box next to me, it now is on top of three.

As for the bed itself, quite choice (to borrow one of Ferris Bueller’s lines). I’m sure I’ll have many more restful nights on it, especially if Obama is elected.

(I’m trying to throw an Obama reference into every one of my posts these days if you haven’t noticed).

Who knows if the type of bed you sleep on really makes any difference, but one thing is certain, unless you’re a workaholic or a couch potato, the bed is the furnishing in which you spend the greatest percentage of your life.

That topper might be an especially good idea if the dog is on the bed a lot.

Hayley use to sleep on the bed so we bought cheaper covers that could be replaced more frequently.

Glad to hear you are enjoying the new mattress.

For some reason that last sentence sounds funny.

I love my bed. You're absolutely right - where else do you spend that much time?

Tim, the next time I go to Wal-Mart, I'm gonna check out the covers they have. Zoe actually had an abscess on one of her anal glands this week. If she had gotten residue from it on the bed, it wouldn't have been pretty. I played around with that last sentence for 5 to 10 minutes before finally deciding to just leave it.

Sarah, I find myself watching more TV in the bedroom now with the new bed even though the screen is much smaller than the living room one (13" vs 27").

That pic of Barack looks like he's ready to make sexy time. Niiiice. One of the all-time great mockumentaries. Also loved "Best in Show." Someone in McCain's camp has the gypsy tears.

Love a comfortable bed. It's one of the essentials.

Hayley had to have those glands drained once, that stuff is pretty nasty.

They make a "thermal mattress pad" which is what we bought but it was 139.00 on sale.

Sadly we do not have any animals sharing the bed anymore.

Did not mean to insult your writing, I meant the last sentence I had typed about enjoying your mattress. Just sounds goofy.

PJ, if you go back in my archives, you'll see I'm also a big fan of "Borat". One of my favorite scenes is when he goes into that antique shop and "accidentally" does hundreds of dollars of damage. I like!

Tim, I was wondering why Zoe wasn't eating. Thought it might have been something she ate. Next time I'll know to take a look at her backside if she's acting uncharacteristically.

I'll I can think about is that fan falling over off those boxes and slicing you up as you sleep. Make sure that front grill/grid is securely on fastened. ;o)

Great bed, great couch, great TV. The essentials of any pad.
